James Bennett Barnett, 72, a native of Huntsville, Ala., and resident of Houma, 
was born July 5, 1941, and died at 9:19 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013. 

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery in 
Houma. 

He is survived by his son, James Clifton Barnett; daughters, Helen Marie Daigle 
and husband, Daniel, Wanda Fanning, and Bobbie Jean Jones and Richard "Dickie" 
Jones; brother, Randy Hugh Barnett; sisters, Janie Moore and husband, Billy, 
and Jo Ann Barnett; grandchildren, Tina Dawn Stanley, Jason Jerome Jones and 
wife, Candice, Brandy Nicole Romine and Jonathan McClendon, Richelle "Shelly" 
Marie Malinarolo and husband, Matthew, Daniel Felix Daigle III, John Clint 
Jones, and Andrea Michelle "Sissy" Daigle; eight great-grandchildren; and one 
great-great-grandchild. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Barnett; parents, William Allen 
Barnett and Rassie Lee Barnett; brothers, Bobby Gene Barnett (surviving wife, 
Cathy "Sam"), Johnny Maxwell Barnett (surviving wife, Kathy), and Kenneth 
"Buddy" Barnett (deceased wife, Betty); and sister, Brenda Joyce Holmes 
(surviving husband, R.C.) 

Samart Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
