Abraham Joseph Cortez, 65, a native of Raceland and resident of Thibodaux, died 
at 10:07 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2013. 

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's 
Witnesses in Thibodaux. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pamela Ann 
Esteve Cortez; daughters, Kendra Elizabeth Cortez and Tamarah Lynne Cortez; 
grandson, Tyler Jonathan Cortez; and brother, George Lawrence Cortez Jr. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Lawrence Cortez and Valentine 
Rodrigue Cortez; and in-laws, Russell Nelson Esteve Sr. and Anna Guillotte 
Esteve. 

Abraham was a spiritual person who loved his God, Jehovah. He always wanted to 
be at his spiritual meetings and loved learning about Jehovah. 

Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
