George Albert Currie, 83, a native of Honolulu, Hawaii, and resident of Houma, 
passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2013.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Greenwood 
Funeral Home in New Orleans. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the 
Mass of Christian burial at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home,

with burial in Masonic Cemetery.

He was the beloved husband of Julia Trahan Currie; brother of Adelle Young, 
Annie Copp and their late husbands, Edric Copp and Paia Young, the late Harry K. 
Currie, Edward S. Kaopuiki and wife, Ruby, and Robert L. Currie; stepdaughters, 
Donna (Ray) Hutchinson and Charlene (Dickey) Lottinger; sister-in-law, Maria 
Currie Dothan; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Jackson Currie and Adelle 
Kaopuiki.

 He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a 1948 graduate of McKinley 
High School in Honolulu, and a former employee of Precision Tools and Sheraton 
Hotel in New Orleans.

He was a past master and secretary of Crescent City Masonic Lodge No. 387, and a 
member of Dragons and Togom.

He was the King of the Krewe of Harolds in 2001.

Special thanks goes to The Homestead Assisted Living, Bayou Home Care, Haydel 
Memorial Hospice and especially his caregivers, Christee Scott, Shiphay Green, 
Irma Grow and Amae Barthelemy.

Greenwood Funeral Home in New Orleans is in charge of arrangements.
