John Elroy Houser, 81, a native of England, Ark., and resident of Houma, died 
at 4:42 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013. 

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Chauvin Funeral 
Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marie Bonvillain Houser; daughters, 
Lisa Ann Houser and companion, Chad J. LeBouef, Debra Houser Hebert and Gwyn 
Houser McDonald; grandchildren, Travis Chauvin and fiancee, Megan Andras, 
Alexis Hebert, Derek Chauvin, Melissa Landry and husband, Scott, Dr. Clinton 
Hebert and Savannah Coston; and great-grandchildren, Gage, Miya and Zoie 
Chauvin. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Franklin Houser and Melissa Craig 
Langston; and sister, Melbadean Simmons. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any charity. 

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
