Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2013/f1310.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Brian James Parks, 39, a native of Marrero and resident of Thibodaux, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013. Visitation will be held in his honor from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church cemetery in Thibodaux. He was the loving father of Brianna and Hailey Parks; former husband of Patricia Grabert; son of Allen J Parks Jr., of Thibodaux, and Cynthia Udemans, of Margate, Fla.; and brother of Allen J Parks III and Jason J Parks. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Allen Joseph Parks Sr. and Marie Durapau Parks, and Sam Bauman and Bernadette Miller Bauman. He was a recent resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, where he was employed as an oil field mechanic at Tetra Technologies and had many loving friends. He also formerly served as a first responder and firefighter with the Thibodaux Volunteer Fire Department, the Protector Fire Company II and Jefferson Parish, Terrytown Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed performing as a D.J., cooking in competitive barbeque cook offs, hunting and fishing. The family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to the staff and loving caregivers of St. Joseph Hospice in Thibodaux, Vosswood Nursing Center in Houston, Texas, and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or for memorial Masses. Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. ======================
