Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from noon until funeral time Friday at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial in Rogers Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Brenda M. Rogers; daughter, Gracie Rogers; brothers, Felix Thibodaux and wife, Janet, and Terry Jabert; sister-in-Law, Betty Rogers; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Gautreaux, Patrick Gautreaux and wife, Becky, and Eddie Henry Jr.; sisters-in-law, Jane Cadiere, Geneva Chisum and Trudy Smith; mother-in-law, Irene Gautreaux; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Mike Chisum. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annabelle Dupre Leblanc and Newell Rogers; brothers, James "Jimmy" Rogers and Aubrey Rogers; sister, Hazel Henry; father-in-law, Elton Gautreaux; brother-in-law, Danny Cadiere Sr.; nephews, John Gautreaux and Cameron "C.J."; and sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Rogers and Jane Jabert. He was a drummer for Cotton and Boll Weevil, Kenny Moore and Associates, the J.V.S. Trio and various other bands. He loved fishing, especially with Boo, Dale, Mike, T-Forest and Roy. He loved hunting especially in Arkansas with his brother-in-law, Mike. He was known to be a jokester and loved to make people laugh. He was a truck driver for more than 40 years and retired from Acme Truck Line. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Andrea Espinoza and staff at St. Joseph Hospice, Stats Home Care and the staff at Chabert Medical Center.
