SIMS, JAMES, SR.  

James Leonard "Bo Diddly" Sims Sr., 68, a native and resident of Thibodaux, 
died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time 
at 11 a.m. Saturday at Magnolia United Methodist Church. 

Burial will follow in Blue Lily cemetery. 

He is survived by his wife, Freddie Mae Poindexter-Sims; son, James L. Sims Jr. 
and wife, Sylvia; daughter, Eve Marie Duncan and husband, Austin; brothers, 
Delbert, Clinton, Sydney and Kevin Smith; sisters, Barbara Baker, Mildred 
McGee, Denice and Stephanie Washington, Rebecca Southall, Louise Ellis, Karen, 
Jolene, and Resepta Smith; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas Sims and Louise McGee; 
grandmothers, Pinkey Rounds and Ada Harrold; brother, Robert McGee; and 
brother-in-law, Raymond Ellis. Jones Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of 
arrangements.
