Helen "Silver Foxx" Steward, 61, a native and resident of Houma, died Monday, 
Oct. 28, 2013. 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at New Mount 
Pilgrim Baptist Church in Houma. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at 
the church, 

with burial in Southdown Cemetery in Houma. 

She is survived by her son, Earl (Kanika) Smith Jr.; daughter, Tracy (Charles) 
Smith; brothers, Junius Walter, Erving Sr. (Ruby), Albert Sr., Irish (Tokie) 
and Anderson Carter; and sisters, Mary Lee (Willie Sr.) Robinson, Ophelia 
Carter, Patricia Flugence and Barbara Carter. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling Steward; parents, Walter and 
Rose Lee Carter; daughter, Devonia Carter; sister, Gloria Lee Carter Nells; and 
grandparents, Gayden and Sidney Johnson Stovall. 

Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
