Bessie Smith Westley, 84, a native and resident of Houma died Monday, Oct. 21, 
2013. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at New Rising Sun 
Baptist Church 

followed by burial in New Rising Sun Baptist Church cemetery. 

She is survived by her sons, Edward Westley Jr. and Charles Westley of Houma; 
daughters, Janice Matthews of Cypress, Texas, and Carolyn Talley of Prairie 
View, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great 
grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Westley Sr.; parents, Albert 
Smith and Orlean Harris Smith. 

Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
