Champagne Sr., 81, a native and resident of Galliano, died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow. Military services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cut Off. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sally Curole Champagne; son, Roy A. Champagne Jr.; daughter, Mona Champagne; grandchild, Zac Cheramie; great- grandchidren, Pierce and Hayden Cheramie; and sisters, Peggy C. Toups and Janet C. Dugas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Madio and Agnes Terrebonne Champagne; brother, Herbert Champagne; and sister, Dorothy "Dot" C. Martin. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. He was a altar server, Acolyte, Eucharistic minister and member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 9000. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of American Legion Post No. 6529 and a life member of the VFW. Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of arrangements. ======================
