SAMUEL "PREACHER" DAVIS, JR., a retired farm laborer and welder at J. Ray 
McDermott Fabricators died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013 at his residence in 
Paincourtville, LA. 
He was 78, and a native of Paincourtville, LA. 

Visiting at Williams & Southall Funeral Home, Napoleonville, LA from 2:00pm to 
4:30pm Friday, Nov. 29, 2013. Visiting at Canaan Baptist Church, Plattenville, 
LA, from 9:00am to Religious Services at 11:00am Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, Rev. 
Ervin Antoine officiating. 

Burial in Canaan Baptist Church cemetery, Plattenville. 

Survived by his wife, Rosa Mae Davis of Paincourtville, LA; 1 son, O'Daniel 
Davis of Paincourtville, LA; 3 daughters, Sherbronkery Richard of Dorseyville, 
LA, Sherlman Davis of Paincourtville, LA, and Alonnia Price of Tulsa, OK; 1 
brother, Lloyd Davis, Sr. of Dorseyville, LA; 8 sisters and spouses, Aldonia 
Washington, Ceola Davis, Doris Fair, and Rose Davis, all of Paincourtville, LA, 
Ruby and Joseph Blaine, and Zennia Caldwell of Dorseyville, LA, Modesta and 
Nathaniel Carter of Ewellville, LA, and Betty Walker of Thibodaux, LA; 19 
grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; Also a host 
of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Preceded in death by 1 son, Oscar J. Davis; 1 grandson, Kentrell McBride; 1 
great grandson, Jesus Thomas; Parents, Aldonia and Freddie Davis, Sr.; 1 
brother, Freddie Davis, Jr.; 3 sisters, Maude Worley, Eva Augusta, Lodgia 
Williams; Mother and Father-in-law, Roselee and Paul Worley.
