He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Friday, November 22, 2013 from 9:00am to 11:00am at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 11:00am at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church and Burial at Saint Elizabeth Cemetery in Paincourtville, LA. He is survived by his, Spouse: Beverly Daigle Fuerst of Houma LA, Sons: Donald Nicholas Fuerst and wife Debbie of Blue Springs MO, and Joseph Edward Fuerst and wife Sheryl of Houma LA, duaghter in law, Denise Fuerst, Sisters: Mary Lee Rosola of Raymore MO, Barbara Cage and husband Lee of San Antonio TX, and Sharon McLellan and husband Bobby of Granbury TX, Grandchildren: Christopher Fuerst and wife Julie, Thomas Fuerst, Eric Fuerst and wife Shandra, Emily Fuerst and fiance' Will Dorrance, Patrick Fuerst, and Justin Fuerst, Great Grandson: Logan Fuerst, Sister-in-Law: Lorraine Giroir and husband Richard of Belle Rose LA, Brother-in-Law: Henry Daigle and wife Cheryl of Paincourtville LA. He was preceded in death by his, Parents: Joseph and Mary Louise Fuerst, Grandparents: John Joseph Fuerst and Louise Fuerst, Sons: John Joseph Fuerst, and Thomas Fuerst. He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. He loved reading, watching his movies and westerns on TV, and playing Gin Rummy with his best friend Mike Boquet every morning. He was a member of the Houma Civitan Club having served twice as its president. He received the Civitan Honor Key, the highest award the club can bestow on its member.
