Remedia Trosclair Matherne, born January 23, 1934 at Southdown, LA, resident of 
Houma, La died Thursday, November 7, 2013.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at 
Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Monday, November 11, 2013 from 10:00AM until 
12:30PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. A mass of Christian burial will be held 
Monday, November 11, 2013 at 1:00PM at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. 

Burial will be at St. Francis #2 in Bayou Cane.

She is survived by two daughters: Remedia “Sissy” Broussard and Pamela 
Matherne; two brothers: Harry Trosclair and Jerry Trosclair; three sisters: 
Delores T. Benoit, Gloria T. Gales, and Josephine T. Bergeron; five 
grandchildren: Sherry Collins, Shelly Moore, Todd Broussard, Mark Eschete, and 
Remedia Eschete and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by many 
friends and special friends, Judy Lococo, Bobbie LeCompte and Steve LeRille.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carrol J. Matherne; her parents, 
Joseph and Josephine Trosclair; one brother, Joseph Trosclair, Jr; one foster 
brother: Willie Comeaux; three sisters: Alice T. Hebert, Dorothy T. Bergeron 
and Audrey T. Riker; two sons, Carrol Matherne Jr. and Mark Matherne; one 
daughter: Cynthia Matherne; and two grandchildren, Carrol W. Murphy and Ricky 
Tre Murphy
