Wilton B. Morvant, 85, died on Sunday, November 24, 2013. Born July 22, 1928, 
he was raised on the Orange Grove Plantation and would later move to Chackbay, 
LA.

Visitation will be held on November 29, 2013 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor 
Catholic Church in Chackbay, LA from 8:00 am to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian 
Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am at the church 

followed by burial in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church cemetery in 
Chackbay.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Audrey T. Morvant; loving children, 
Glenda Ordoyne and husband Terry, Marty Morvant and wife Debra, Teddy Morvant, 
and Tina Benoit and husband Brett; eight grandchildren; ten great-
grandchildren; siblings, Vernice Lirette, Clifton Morvant, Madlyn Chiasson, and 
Nelson Morvant Jr.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Morvant Sr. and Ella Clement 
Morvant; siblings, Arrise Fajardo, Jules Morvant, and Wesley Morvant.

Wilton served as a sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War and 
a retired Pipefitter Local Union 60 of New Orleans, LA. He was a member of the 
Burton Hunting Club and loved to fish, hunt, and raise animals. He also loved 
to play his harmonica for his family and tell stories of his childhood days.

The family would like to thank Lafourche Home for the Aged for the special care 
given to their loved one.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is charge of arrangements.
