He was a native of Liberty, Texas, and resident of Thibodaux. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Thibodaux Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia McCollum Garrard; sons, Michael C. Garrard, of Baton Rouge, and J. Mitchell Garrard, of Thibodaux; daughters, Beth Garrard Perque, of Gretna, Rachel Garrard Whitefield, of Austin, Texas, Renee Garrard Knight, of Thibodaux, and Rebecca Nann Garrard, of Dallas, Texas; sister, Nann Roberts; nephews, Steve Martin and David Scott Martin; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Garrard Himel, Jeremy Garrard, Cherie Perque Hollingsworth, Patrick Perque, Cree Garrard, Christain Knight, Jill Knight, Jacob Whitefield, Elizabeth Garrard and Lucas Whitefield; and five great- grandchildren, Caleb Garrard, Rian Perez, Veda Himel, Maddixx Perque and Ayden Garrard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miriam McCrieght and Billie Garrard; sister, Alice Garrard Pritchard; and brother, Benny Garrard. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was the last surviving partner of The Hycatector Company, president of Electro-Craft Corporation and Strata-Log Incorporated.
