Giroir, 64, a resident and native of Labadieville, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013. He was born Nov. 16, 1949. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until funeral time today at Landry's Funeral Home in Labadieville. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Labadieville, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Belle River. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lavinia G. Giroir; mother, Ella Mae Giroir; sons, Jerome Lewis and wife, Monica, Darren Lewis and Rodney Lewis; daughters, Rachel Brown and husband, Hugh, Lila Gaspard and husband, Kim, and Karen Melancon and husband, Randy; six sisters; 15 grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Giroir; daughter-in-law, Tammy Johnson Lewis; and grandson, Christopher Lewis. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was employed with McDermott for 44 years. He loved to spend time with his family, spoiling his grandchildren, helping others and watching his all time favorite football teams, the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Landry's Funeral Home in Labadieville is in charge of arrangements. ======================
