Gloria D. Griffin, 82, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano, died 
at 4:35 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2013. 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until funeral home Tuesday at Samart-Mothe 
Funeral Home in Cut Off. Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday at the 
funeral home, 

with burial in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano. 

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce G. Pitre and husband, Nobel; 
grandchildren, Tarkus Pitre, Tara P. Guidry, Tiffany P. Lee and Stacy G. 
Martin; great-grandchildren, Zachary Pitre, Syndia Lee, Mayasin Lee, Kiley 
Guidry, Emma Jane Guidry and Cameron Martin; and sisters, Bella Orgeron, Anita 
Hebert and Hazel Blair. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Justillian Griffin; parents, 
Wilkerson and Evelia Cheramie Duplantis; son, Rogers Guidry Jr.; great-
grandchild, Caleb Pitre; brothers, Joseph Duplantis, Moise Vegas, John Vegas, 
Santo Duplantis and William Duplantis; and sister, Leola Rousse. 

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her 
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 
She enjoyed cooking for her family and enjoyed going to the casino. 

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
