Chad Michael Maronge, 44, a native of Houma and resident of Waukashaw, Wisc., died at 6:23 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his wife, Nicole W. Maronge; son, Jacob Michael Maronge; daughters, Meghan Cecile Maronge and Morgan Nicole Maronge; parents, Michael Joseph Maronge and Kathryn Frederick Maronge; sister, Michelle Maronge Verret and husband, Brad Michael Verret; mother and father-in-law, Rachael Sothern Barrios and Robert Louis Barrios Sr.; and brother-in-law, Robert Louis Barrios Jr. Chad served in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years. During his service he received numerous awards including: Air Force Meritorious Service Medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Achievement Medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters, Combat Readiness Medal, Good Conduct Medal with Six Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal with One Bronze Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Air Force Recruiter Ribbon with Three Oak Leaf Clusters, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship with One Bronze Star and Seven Senior Career Recruiter Badges. His effective dates of promotion were: Senior Airman, Sep. 1990; Staff Sergeant, April 1995; Technical Sergeant, June 2000; Master Sergeant, July 2003; and finally Senior Master Sergeant, July 2009. In addition to Chad's numerous awards he was very proud of his wife being awarded Spouse of the Year for the 331st recruiting squadron and Spouse of the Year for the 367th recruiting group during the 2005 fiscal year. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Trust Fund Donation Account at any Louisiana Chase Bank.
