She was a native of Bayou Dularge, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Monday, December 23, 2013 from 8:00 AM until service time at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, LeDora Smith Hernandez and husband Juan G., Houma, LA, sons, Gene Smith and wife Arlene Duplantis Smith, Houma, LA, Johnny Smith, Jr. and wife Shirley Duet Smith, Houma, LA, grandchildren, Dr. Theresa Wozencraft, Holly Hernandez, Richard Smith, Johnny Smith, III, Jerri Smith, Ramona Neil, Gene Smith, Jr., Sheryl Waddell and Bobby Smith, step grandchildren, Larry James Duplantis, Jr. and Craig Wayne Joseph Duplantis, Sr. great grandchildren, Raven McNabb, Alyssa and Emily Marcel, Josh Naquin, Whitney Naquin, Ciara Merwin, Kevin Neil, Jr. and Kimma Neil, Tia, Bobby, Jr., Alex and Chase Smith, Matthew Waddell, step great grandchildren, Taylor Elizabeth Duplantis and Craig Wayne Joseph Duplantis, Jr., five great great grandchildren, one step great great grandchild, Riley Rae Boydt, and brother, Lawrence Bourg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Joseph Smith, Sr., parents, Maxillaire Bourg and Pamela Savoie Bourg, six brothers, Dalton, Irvin, Norris, Abbie, Harris, Raymond and four sisters, Olive Price, Leontine Lapeyrouse, Alice Darcey and Sadie Lovell. She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. She was a housewife and worked on she and her husband's trawl boat for years. Previously she was a school cafeteria worker. The family would like to thank The Oaks of Houma and Haydel Memorial Hospice for their compassionate care of their mother. ======================
