She was a native of Tewksbury, MA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 from 8:15 AM until service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral . Burial will follow at Bayou Black Cemetery. She is survived by her sons, Charles Carey Spence, Jr, and wife Cindy, Mark Edward Spence and Wife Monee', Philip Allen Spence, daughters, Elizabeth Spence Watkins and husband Bill Watkins, Sharon Spence Boudreaux and husband David Boudreaux, Mary Spence Orgeron, daughter in law, Kim Ste. Marie Spence, grandchildren, Ashli Spence Bernard, Erin Watkins Klingman, Sarah Watkins Triplett, Katherine Watkins Champagne, Leah Watkins, Kristen Spence, Matthew Spence, Wendy Faucheaux Dolan, Lauren Faucheaux Whatley, Morgan Spence, Lindsey Spence, Harry Orgeron, Blair Orgeron, Allison Spence and Jeffrey Spence, twelve great grandchildren, sister, Elizabeth Johnston, New Smyrna Beach, FL. She also leaves behind a lifelong best friend, June Pellegrin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Jolly and Frances Frost Jolly, sons, David Simpson Spence and Harry Clark Spence. Glo was an appropriate nickname because she filled the world with light. She was a member of Al-Anon for 27 years, a master gardener and loved bird watching. She was a potter, painter and sculptor and attended Nicholls State University for numerous art classes. She enjoyed turning other peoples junk into treasures. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved taking her grandchildren shopping on their birthdays. She enjoyed visiting Grand Isle and traveling on her bus trips with close She was a very spiritual person devoted to her family and friends and provided tremendous amount of support and love to her children and friends with her comforting and non judgmental words of wisdom. The family would to thank Dr. Hayden Lafaye, Dr. Russell Henry, Dr. Robbie Cazayoux and to Haydel Memorial Hospice. ======================
