Howard E. Surles Sr., 81, a native of Rayville and resident of Galliano, died 
at 11:09 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time 
Saturday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off. Funeral services will be at 
11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, 

with burial in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.

He is survived by his sons, Barry Limbocker, Howard Surles Jr and Todd Surles; 
daughters, Debrah S. Terrebonne, Tammy S. Crochet and Niki S. Hornbostel; 
sister, Maxine "Tennie" Herrin; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Rena Galliano Surles; brother, Jack 
Surles; and sister, Velma Surles.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
