Oscar Pierre Verdun, 80, a native of Raceland, LA and resident of Thibodaux, LA 
passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at St. Joseph 
Co- Cathedral from 9:00 AM till funeral time. A Mass of Christian Burial will 
take place at 11: 00 AM at the church. 

Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta Brock Verdun; son, Robert Verdun; 
daughters, Monica Verdun Lundgren and husband Charlie; Margaret Verdun, 
Patricia Verdun DeGruise and husband Blair; brother, Nelson Verdun; 
grandchildren, Layla and Ross Lundgren, Ainsley and Kolbe Verdun, Elise and 
Emily DeGruise

He is preceded in death by parents, Victor and Louise Champagne Verdun; 
brothers, Freddie, Frank and Edwin Verdun; sisters, Marie Cavallier and Lucy 
LeBlanc

He was a retired maintenance worker at Nicholls State University for over 30 
years. He was a longtime member of the North Thibodaux Fire Company. During the 
Korean War, he served as a Cannoneer with the U.S. Army, Bravo Battery 91st 
Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Audubon Guest House for their care, 
love and support. 

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Larry T. Brock 
Memorial Scholarship Fund, Louisiana 4-H Foundation, P.O. Box 25100, Baton 
Rouge, LA, 70894-5100.
