Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2013/f1312.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Brenda Oliver Marcel Winders, 74, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Camelot of Broussard Nursing Home in Broussard. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette. The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with burial in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette. The Rev. Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette, will officiate. She is survived by her daughter, Scarlett Marcel and fiance, John C. Zant, of Lafayette, from her marriage to the late Carl A. Marcel; twin sister, Brendaline "Crickett" Pelitire, of Kenner; niece, Adrienne Duhon; nephew, Peter Pelitire III; seven great-nieces and nephews; stepdaughters, Gail W. LeCompte and husband, Philip Jr., of Houma, and Beth W. Davis and husband, Larry, of Lafayette; stepsons, Bill Winders and wife, Liz, of York, Penn., and Bert Winders and wife, Sharon, of Lafayette; son-in-law, Tommie Drott; 18 step- grandchildren; 21 step-great-grandchildren; four step-great-great- grandchildren; and her beloved friend, Stanley Nichols, of Houma. Brenda was born Jan. 14, 1939, to Alexander and Beatrice Olivier Oliver in New Orleans and was a long-time resident of Kenner, Houma and Lafayette. She will be dearly missed by her classmates from the graduating class of 1957 at East Jefferson High School. She worked as a Certified Chiropractic Assistant of Lister Chiropractic Clinic for 15 years. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Nelita Gormen Hooper, CPA, in Houma. She was faithful to her church, enjoyed reading religious books and attending Mass at St. Edmond Catholic Church where she was a long-time parishioner. Brenda enjoyed dancing, cooking, making friends and treasured her New Orleans musical heritage. She adored her poodle companion, the late Francois Neville. Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette is in charge of arrangements. ======================
