Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2014/f1401.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Tom Michael Grems, 54, a native of Rome, N.Y., former resident of Houma, and currently living in Baton Rouge, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, due to an auto accident Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014. Visitation will be from 11:30 until funeral time Saturday at Living Word Church in Schriever. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church. He is survived by his wife, Christine Champagne Grems; daughter, Mindy M. Grems; stepson, Ryan M. Bergeron; mother, Marie Grems Landi; brothers, John Grems and wife, Sandra, and David Grems and wife, Maria; sisters-in-law, Karen Davis, Joan Bush and husband, Charlie, Myra Martin and husband, Mike, Rosalie LeJeuene, and Mary Lea Reynolds and husband, Randall; brothers-in-law, Greg Champagne, and Patrick Champagne and wife, Ann; 16 nephews and nieces; 19 great-nephews and nieces; aunts, Julia Lauber, Sara Rebe, and Grace Kogswell; and uncle, Tom Alder. He was preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Grems; father and mother- in-law, Irvan Champagne and Rosalie Champagne; and niece, Kate Marie Champagne. Tom was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed taking care of his animals and being amidst all the wildlife around his home. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed football and basketball. He also loved woodworking and riding his motorcycle. Tom had a servants heart. He was blessed with great strength, abilities and talents, which were generously used to help family, friends, neighbors and strangers without hesitation. Countless hours were volunteered with Terrebonne Livestock, Hope Extreme Community Church and El Salvador mission trips. Tom and Christine worked together for their business, Carefree Fence, for 16 years. His work was widespread throughout south Louisiana and he was admired by his customers for his meticulous building of garden structures and fences. He was currently employed by Country Estates of the South of Baton Rouge. Tom will live forever in our hearts!
