Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Joseph Co- Cathedral in Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in at St. Joseph Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Leonard Richard; brother, Emile Richard; sister, Irene Landry; children, Charles Richard and Romney, Louise Ledet and Jimmy, Clare Lagarde and Johnny, Daniel Richard and Monna, and Anne LeJeune and Brian; grandchildren, Brian Richard and Kathy, Gregory Richard and Karen, Eric Richard, Matthew Ledet and Ashlee, Sarah Daigle and Johnathon, John Berger, and Holly Richard; step-grandchildren, Inga Baker and Andy, Alix O'Donnell and Chris, and Lindsey Boudreaux and Dustin; and great-grandchildren, Abby and Jake Richard, Hannah Richard and Ethan Hunter, Adam and Josephine Ledet, Olivia and Clay Daigle, and Lorcan O'Donnell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Nora LeBlanc Richard; and brothers, Michael, Linton, and James Richard. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Following his long family history in the Louisiana sugar industry, he worked as an overseer with Southdown Sugars for approximately 30 years. After his retirement from Southdown, he was employed by Commercial Pipe Services, and then retired from the Lafourche Parish School Board in 1992. As a faithful St. Joseph parishioner, he served as an usher for many years. He loved fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family. His love, wisdom, and guidance will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to your favorite charity. Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements. ======================
