August 11, 1924 - January 15, 2014

August "Gus" Rodrigue, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. 
He was a native of Chackbay and a resident of Vacherie. 

He was retired from Avondale Shipyard as a fitter.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 8:00 am until 10:45 am 
at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie. Mass of Christian Burial will 
be held at 11:00 am 

with burial to follow in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church cemetery in 
Vacherie.

He is survived by his son, Perry Rodrigue and wife Theresa; daughter, Susan 
Duet and husband Anthony. One brother, Wally Rodrigue and sister, Shirley 
Thibodaux (Walter); five grandchildren, Tina (Rodney) Legendre, Kevin (Laura) 
Rodrigue, Stacy (Lonnie) Thibodaux, Corey Duet and Christie (Reid) Waguespack 
and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Guidry Rodrigue, parents; Augustlia 
Legendre and Victor Rodrigue. Brothers; Horace, Simon and Elton Rodrigue, Sr. 
and sisters; Victoria Rodrigue and Mary Rodrigue Kliebert and great-
grandchildren, Hailey Legendre and Bryce Thibodaux.

Arrangements are under the direction of Thibodaux Funeral Home.
