A resident of Lafourche Parish entered into eternal rest while attending the January Jam racing event in Flowood, MS with his son Ty Michael. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Falgout Funeral Home, 3838 Highway 1, Raceland, LA. A Prayer Service will be celebrated at 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 29, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Melissa Guthrie Rogers and son Ty Michael Rogers; parents, George and Mable Ledet Rogers; brother, Troy Anthony Rogers and his wife Dejuana; father and mother-in-law, Rafle Paul Guthrie, Sr. and Amelia Ann Parks Guthrie; sister-in-law, Sheila Wille and her husband Jeffrey; brother-in-law, Ralph Guthrie, Jr. and his wife Jeanette and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Rhyan Nicole Rogers and sisters, Georgie Ann Rogers and Vickie Marie Rogers. Jamie was a devoted husband, father, son and friend. He had a passion for RC Racing with Ty as a Team. Jamie was very generous with his time, always willing to help others without hesitation. He loved the outdoors and sharing time whit his friends. Jamie was gifted with an extraordinary mind, helping mentor many others in the field of mechanics. Jamie will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His selflessness will live on through many others as he was an organ donor. In lieu of flowers, donations welcomed for Ty to help fulfill his future goals and dreams.
