Don Steven Smith, 53, a native of Midland, Texas, and resident of Houma, died 
Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014. 

A memorial service will be at 9 p.m. Friday at Bayou Cane Sports Bar. 

He is survived by his mother, Mattie King Smith, of Houma; uncle, Ronny Smith, 
of Midland, Texas; brothers, Dwaine Smith, of Houma, and Derel Smith, of 
Clermont, Fla.; daughter, Ashley Smith, of Houma, son, Tyler Smith, of 
Aberdeen, S.D.; and grandson, Brendan Guillory, of Houma. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Don Tex Smith, of Midland, Texas; first 
wife, Carolyn Posey Smith, of Houma; and grandparents. 

He donated his body to science.
