Eugene S. Smith, 54, a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish, died at 9:15 
a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013. 

Visitation will be from 8 a.m until funeral time Saturday at Dularge Community 
Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, 

with burial in Southdown Cemetery. 

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Vanburen Smith; sons, Eugene Jr., Jeremiah, 
and Jamaud Smith, Devin Franklin and Terrell Williams; daughters, Rachel and 
Christina Vanburen, Julia and Jalisa Smith, Katina and Traneka Williams, and 
Lameka (Derek) Gincoo; sisters, Sharon (Melvin) Adams, Lisa Smith, and Diane 
Williams; brothers, Henry, John (Roxanne), Joseph, and James Smith; and 18 
grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Sr. and Cecilia Cannon Smith; 
and brothers, David and Keith Smith. 

Jones Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
