Alter Mae Steward, 81, a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish, died at 7:25 
p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2014. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Friday at St. Peter Baptist 
Church in Montegut. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, 

with burial in Bisland Cemetery. 

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Raymond Steward Sr.; sons, Raymond 
Steward Jr. and wife, Gina, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Chris Steward, Ken 
Steward and wife, Desiree, of Houma, and Donald Williams and wife, Mary, of New 
Orleans; daughter, Doris S. Coffee, of Mary Esther, Fla.; sister, Daisy Wallace 
and husband, Charlie, of Larose; brother, Haywood Williams Sr. and wife, Rose, 
of Allen, Texas; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Ollie Jones Williams; 
brothers, Alvin Jr., Hayes, James, Alton Sr., Ronnie, and Nathan Williams; and 
sister, Vergie Stimley. 

Jones Funeral Home in Houma in charge of arrangements.
