Gerald Prosperie Sr., 77, a native and resident of Montegut, died Saturday, 
Feb. 15, 2014.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at Samart Funeral 
Home in Houma. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral 
home, 

with burial in Rogers Cemetery in Houma.

He is survived by his daughters, Vickie Authement and husband, Bart Sr., Alice 
Brunet and husband, Jeremy, Ethel Naquin and husband, Billy Sr., Esther 
Trosclair, and Stephanie Babin and husband, Dub; sons, Gerald Prosperie Jr. and 
wife, Mary, Eric Prosperie, and Thomas Prosperie and wife, Liza; brothers, 
Louis Prosperie Jr. and Bert Prosperie; sisters, Hannah Gayle, Maryetta 
Ellender, Wendy Lou Lirette, and Ann Claire Bonvillian; 16 grandchildren; and 
13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Sr. and Bessie Duplantis 
Prosperie; sisters, Betty Babin and Diane Rhodes; brother, Hasley Luke 
Prosperie; and granddaughter, Tillie Brunet.
