Elaine Theriot Whipple, 73, a native of Chauvin and resident of Houma, died 
Friday, Feb. 28, 2014. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date. 

She is survived by her sons, Darrell and Chad Whipple; daughters, Jennifer 
Whipple Eschete and husband, Paul Sr., and Melinda Whipple; brothers, Kenneth 
and Danny Theriot; sisters, Ruth Lafont and Julie Toups; sisters-in-law, Linda 
Whipple Schoust and husband, Numa, and Kimberly Whipple Bussey and huband, 
Jimmy; grandchildren, Tiffany Eschete, Paul Eschete Jr., Heather Eschete, 
Leslie Lapeyrouse Liner and husband, Brent, Ashley Marie Lapeyrouse, Braxton 
Whipple, Star-Janet Smith, Blade Smith, Devin Smith, and Z Smith; great-
grandchildren, Breanna Eschete, Dwayne Liner Jr., Jordan Liner, Rayna Eschete, 
Angelina Eschete, Hunter Liner, Leah Eschete, Grayson Eschete, Traun Evans, and 
Maya Pitre; and godchild, Sharlen Lafont. 

She was preceded in death by her huband, Lynn "Chubby" Whipple Jr.; parents, 
Van Theriot and Aline Neal Theriot; and sister, Adline Theriot LeBouef. 

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at the Oaks of Houma 
Nursing Home and St. Catherine's Hospice. 

Samart Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
