Visitation will take place on Monday March 17, 2014 at Our Lady of the Rosary in Larose from 10:00am till service time. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00am with burial following in Our Lady of the Rosary cemetery in Larose. Mrs. Clara is survived by sons Myron Matherne and wife Belinda Deroche, Roy Anthony Matherne, daughter Myra Ann Matherne, daughter-in-law Janet Foret, grandchildren Robert Anthony Matherne and wife Sabrina, Dane Michael Matherne, Tory Matherne Kunckle and husband Marc, Jason Matherne and companion Laya Grayson, great grandchildren Robbie Matherne and wife Patience, Tabatha Matherne, Joseph Matherne, Gevin Matherne ,Elizabeth Kunckle, great-great grandchildren Mason Matherne, Luca Matherne, Sloane Matherne and Adrienne Aqueno, sisters Mable Richoux and Dora Mae Ledet, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Eroy Joseph Matherne, parents Leon and Emma P. Orgeron, son Bobby Matherne, twin brother Clarence and brothers Forest, Dudley and Eldon Orgeron, sisters Norma Gaspard and twins Lorina Leblanc and Laura Orgeron and numerous nephews, nieces, and in-laws. Mrs. Matherne joined the Holy Rosary Ladies Altar Society in 1945 and was a devote Catholic that walked to Mass regularly. She loved red fishing and crabbing, attending Mardi Gras parades, and never quit dancing. She was a regular volunteer at the Larose Civic Center for Special Luncheons and was a big help to French Food Fest. The Matherne family would like to thank Dr Gary Birdsall and staff, Lady of the Sea Hospital, Amedisys Home Health Care, the Medical Team, Independence Home care, and a special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph Hospice.
