Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gheens. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in Resurrection Memorial Park Cemetery in Raceland. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Peggy McDonald Oncale; daughter, Tammy O. Trant and companion, Wayne J. Gros; son, Blane M. "Be Don" Oncale; grandchildren, Christopher "Bubba" Dupre, Casey Solomon Nieves and husband, Antonio, Jodi Lynn Oncale Ford and husband, Benton, Brennon J. Trant, Hunter Blane Oncale, Gage M. Oncale, Trey M. Oncale, and Rylee J. Oncale; great- grandchildren, Caleb, Micah and Judah Nieves, and Ayden Ford; and sister, Audrey O. Hailey of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Armond Wallace Oncale and Bernadette Benoit Oncale; son, Ron Vincent Oncale; in-laws, Clifton J. and Josephine Dantin McDonald; brothers, Charles Ray, Wally and Galeon Oncale; and sister, Verna O. Virgillio. Armond was an entrepreneur who worked in the baking industry for most of his life. He began his career at the Mrs. Carl's Bakery in Raceland. He owned Best Bakery in Houma for many years. Upon leaving the baking business, Armond worked for the Houma Daily Courier until his retirement. Armond was a fun-loving and care free person who loved his family and grandchildren. He always enjoyed a good family get-together whether it was for a holiday, birthday or barbecue. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
