Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafourche/obits/dateobits/2014/f1403.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Virginia Gray Preston, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30th, 2014 at her home in Justin, Texas. She was born March 29, 1930 in Bernice, Louisiana to King C. Gray and Willie Mae (King) Gray. She was a graduate of Dubach High School and attended Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana as well as Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA. She married Clyde N. Preston on June 11, 1949. Together they had five children. Virginia spent 65 years of her life as a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. While she taught in both public and private schools during the 60's and early 70's, her passion was the family she dearly loved, decorating her home, working with flowers, and church involvement. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Houma for over 50 years during which time she taught Sunday School, served on various committees, was a devoted choir member, and belonged to different women's groups. She is survived by her three sons, Rodney Preston, Justin, TX, Terry (Dalinda) Preston, Houma, LA, Danny (Kim) Preston, McKinney, TX; two daughters, Paula ( Steve) Shewmake, Justin, TX, Patti (Kirk) Hill, Rio Rancho NM; five grandchildren, Darah (Brandon) LeBlanc, Preston and Brandon Hill, Lauren and Leah Preston; two great grandchildren, Alayna Mason, Sophia LeBlanc; sister- in-law, Wilna Potvin; nephews Del Basinger, Preston Potvin; nieces, Angela McCullough, Sharon Lea. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, sister, Nancy McGee, grandson, Terry Preston, Jr., grand daughter Emily Claire Preston. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 4th, 2014 from 9:00am till 11am at First Baptist Church of Houma, 7382 Main Street, Houma, LA 70360 with the memorial service at 11am. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories cemetery in Gray, LA. The family would like to thank Dr Jules Dupont, the staff at Good Samaritan Rehab Center of Denton, TX, and Ann's Haven Hospice of Denton Texas for the wonderful care they gave Virginia throughout her illness. ======================
