Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at Thibodaux Funeral Home. A memorial gathering will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife of 23 years and final dance partner, Miki Pfeffer; children, Ronn (Rebecca) Rowland, Vicki (Noel) Monjure, Scott Rowland, Kathy King, Anthony (Lisa) Rowland, and Brittainy Klappenbach; step-daughter, Gretchen (Charles) Caillouet; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, Benjamin, Nikki, Ethan, Holly, Gavin, Cameron and Sheldon; and one niece and two nephews, Lynmarie (Bill Schultz), Alan (Shelba) and Jim Luvin. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Victoria Bullard and Oscar Rowland; sister, Ramona Hendrix; and former wife, Jennie Katherine Picone Rowland. Born in a Kentucky log cabin, Ron was a retired ballroom dance instructor, mainly in Texas, and a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He lived in many places but found his true sense of home when he moved to Thibodaux, or as he liked to call it, his "little slice of heaven." Ron was a gentle soul who never had much regard for material things. He was happiest with his loved ones by his side, a book on his lap, and a clear view out over Bayou Lafourche. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to: Friends of the Library, 705 W. 5th St., Thibodaux, LA 70301, to honor Ron's lifelong love of reading. Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. U.S. Coast Guard ======================
