Jeanell F. Sotko, 80, a native of Brady, Texas, and a resident of Houma, died 
Friday, March 14, 2014.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Monday at Samart Funeral 
Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, 

with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Randel Poe and wife, Brenda Poe, Jimmy Wayne 
Higginbotham and wife, Becky Higginbotham, Terry Daniel Higginbotham and 
companion, Menette Eschete, and Ronald Clifton Riffe and wife, Tammy Riffe; 
daughters, Cathy Thibodeaux and husband, Nolan, Sandy Poe Allen and Gary Allen, 
Lindy Higginbotham and companion, Buddy Bates, and Deedee Higginbotham; 
brother, Glenn Hughes; 24 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Edward Hughes and Ruby Myrtle 
Petty; son, Ronnie Poe; brothers, Charles Wayne and Payton Hughes; sisters, 
Barbara Pruett and Betty Kidd; and two grandchildren.
