He passed away on Wednesday April 23, 2014 at 5:32pm after a courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be at Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux on Wednesday April 30, 2014 from 8am till Funeral Time at 11am. His burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux, La. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Pasqua White Busselle; two children, Barry Busselle and Cheri Busselle and companion, Kevin Aizen. Five grandchildren, Ryan Carlos and companion Emily Charlton, Chelse Aizen, Sean, Tayler and Brylee Busselle. As well as one-stepson, Dennis M. White and wife, Pam; two step- grandchildren, Allison White and Jonathan White; one great-grandchild, Kylee Carlos and one step-great grandchild, Emily Julianne White; three sisters Shirley Jones, Anita Dowty, Cheri Lee and spouse, William. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruby Lee Busselle and brother-in-law, Fred Jones. Ben served 11yrs. with the Army National Guard in Fort Smith, AK and was honorably discharged in 1965. He retired with Shell Oil Company after 36 yrs. of service. He also worked 13 yrs. part-time with the Thibodaux Police Dept.; 11 yrs. part-time with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's office and 22 yrs. part- time with Nicholls State University Athletics Dept. He was also a past member of the Thibodaux Jaycees. Ben was a kind and loving man and will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife, family and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. James Ellis, Thibodaux Regional Hospice and Nurse Joanna Benoit. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
