He was a native and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.; Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 8:00 AM until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Liturgy of the Word will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. He is survived by his, wife, Carol Waddell Dover, daughters, Barbara Weathers Kaiser, Sherri Hammatt, son, David Karl Hammatt, grandchildren, John Cronier, Jr., Robbie Cronier, Jenny Cronier Zeringue, Tina Jelks, great grandchildren, Keegan Cronier, Evan Zeringue, Mary Cronier, Rebecca Cronier, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his, parents, Joseph Dover, Jr. and Eunice Trosclair Dover, son, Robin Weathers, daughters, Jessie Weathers Cronier, Helen Weathers, great grandchild, Jessica Cronier, brother, Merlin "Tommy" Dover, sisters, Eva Cenac, Iris Huff. He worked and retired from Ratcliff and Dravo Basic Materials as a Regional Manager. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Greater Baton Rouge Hope Academy.
