Alvin Matthews, Sr., 47. A native of Valentine, LA and resident of Thibodaux, 
LA died on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at AMG Specialty Hospital. 

Funeral Services will be held at Community Funeral Home on Saturday, April 12, 
2014. Visitation from 11:00a.m until funeral time at 1:00p.m.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Oliver Matthews. Sons, Kenya and Malik 
Oliver and Alvin Matthews, Jr. Daughters, Beatrice and De'on Mathews. Brothers, 
Joseph, Burnell, Egerald(Anica) and Henry(Debra) Matthews. Sisters, Annie 
Celestine, Rita Matthews and De'on (Bryan) Guidroz. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Matthews, Sr., and Beatrice 
Davis Matthews. One sister, Dorothy Mayer. 

He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend with a passion for 
fishing and cooking.
