He was a loving father, a proud grandfather, great-grandfather and a devoted husband to his wife of 60 years, Dolores Leboeuf Papa. A memorial visitation will be from 8am until funeral time on Thursday, May 1st at Thibodaux Funeral Home. A military memorial service at 11:00am with religious service to follow will be held at the funeral home. Burial will be held at later date. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Leboeuf Papa, his three children, Byron Anthony Papa, JoAnn Marie Sullivan, Randy James Papa, daughter-in-law, Tiffany Galliano Papa, and cherished grandchildren, Demi Papa, Skyler Papa, Scott Sullivan, Steven Sullivan, Tyler Hayes; and his great-grandchildren, Aleah Sullivan, Dylan Sullivan and Chloe Layman. He is additionally survived by his brothers Nicholas "Nick" Papa, Louis "LJ" Papa, sister, Rosemary Papa Bourgeois and one other brother. Jutz was preceded in death by his father, Vincenzo Papa, and his mother, Justin Tardo Papa as well as his brothers, George, Charley, Sam, Vincent Papa and sisters, Anna Mae Papa Totina, Sarah Papa Gabb, and Lucille Ann Faucheaux Papa. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the 6th Armored Division in the United States Army and was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action. He additionally received the American Defense Medal, Eameto Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. Jutz always made others feel comfortable with his warm smile and wonderful sense of humor. He was admired for his knowledge in so many areas: a bartender Ð which he termed "mixologist" Ð for over 60 years, a carpenter, and a practicing gunsmith. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the sunshine, quiet waters and loading up ice-chests full of fish until he reached the ripe old age of 92. This was the joy of his life - along with spending time with his family and many close friends. Jutz was blessed with close relationships with his children and grandchildren, but it was his wife of 60 years who brought him the greatest comfort and joy throughout his life's journey. Jutz and Dolores, whom he always referred to as "my baby," still held hands each day until his last. Jutz graced this earth with his beautiful spirit and touch the hearts of everyone he met. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed. Thibodaux Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements. World War II veteran ======================
