"Shorty" Rivere, 81, a native of Little Grand Bayou and resident of Pierre Part, passed away Thursday, April, 3, 2014, at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, with the Rev. Al Davidson, officiating, with burial in St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Marroy Rivere; daughter, Kathy R. Chauvin and husband, Robert, of Houma; sons, Jerry Rivere and wife, Debbie, of Napoleonville, and Darrel Rivere and wife, Debbie, of Pierre Part; grandchildren, Chasity Benoit Mire, Amy Rivere Duplantier, Shawn Rivere, and Taylor Rivere; great-granddaughter, Samantha Ann Marie; brother, Robert Rivere Sr. and wife, Patricia, of Thibodaux; sisters, Brenda R. Hebert and husband, Harvey, and Barbara R. Cavalier and husband, Norris, of Pierre Part; step- grandchildren, Michele and Sean Chauvin; and step-great-grandchildren, Travis, Ashley, and Shelbi Manor, and Bryson Bates. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Rivere Sr. and Marie Landry Rivere; sisters, Doris R. Hebert and Lucy R. Lang; and brothers, Claude J. Rivere and Raymond P. Rivere. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to hunt and fish in his younger days, and worked as a painter foreman. ======================
