Layman A. Savoie, 86, a native of Cut Off and resident of Grand Isle, died 
Monday, April 7, 2014. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Our Lady of the 
Isle Catholic Church. Military honors will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church 
by the United Veterans League. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. 
Saturday at the church, 

with burial in Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church cemetery. 

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margie Verdon Savoie; sons, Jerome, 
Marty, and Gilbert Savoie; daughter, Iris Savoie Cheramie; five grandchildren; 
and four great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Odon Savoie; mother, Josephine Orgeron 
Savoie; brothers, Tilman and Jules Savoie; and sister, Marjorie LeBlanc. 

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
