Daisy Short, 77, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, died 
Tuesday, April 1, 2014. 

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at St. Matthew's 
Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, 

with burial in Crescent Farm Cemetery. 

She is survived by her son, Elgin (Lupe) Short, of Mansfield, Texas; daughters, 
Cressenda (Carnel) Bolden, of Houma; brothers, David (Margaret) Brown and 
Willie (Eldorada) Brown, of Houma; five grandchildren; and four great-
grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sullivan Short; parents, Jimmy and 
Beulah Durkins Brown; daughter, Cynthia Short; brothers, Joseph and Clarence 
Brown; and sisters, Ethel Mae Myles, Willie Mae Harvey, and Macedonia Brown. 

Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
