He was a native of Scott County, VA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. in Houma, La and Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 9:00AM until service time at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houma, La. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judith Voss Templeton; sons, Mark Damon, James Martin and wife Rebecca, Chad Gerard and wife Angie; daughter, Mary Sara Silva and husband Marcos; grandchildren, Garrett John Templeton, Ava Claire Templeton, Jonas Abram Templeton, Mya Templeton Silva, Liam Michael Silva; step-grandchildren, Avery Renee' Theriot, Jacob Preston Theriot; brother, James Alvin Templeton; sister, Billie Sue Quillen; He was preceded in death by his parents, Abram Ingle Templeton and Blanche Elvira Pierson Templeton; brothers, Walter Thomas Templeton, Joeseph Earl Templeton, Everett Lee Templeton, William Elmer Templeton, Charles Ray Templeton, Marvin Carson Templeton, Lonnie Bruce Templeton; sisters, Vesta Alma Vest, Mattie Victoria Templeton, Jamie Grace Ball, Edna Faye Jenkins, Yvonne Louise Miller. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Robert devoted his life to serving in the United States Air Force, serving from 1956 through 1977. After serving in the military, he was a radar technician at Bibbins and Rice Electronics, Rice Electronics, and SOLA Communications. After retiring, Robert spent many hours volunteering at Terrebonne General Medical Center and Mary Byrd Perkins Cancer Center where he enjoyed giving out candy and ginger snaps. Robert was a fun-loving man who enjoyed putting smiles on the faces of others. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
