THARP, JEANETTE (TERREBONNE)  

Jeanette M. Terrebonne Tharp, 80, of Lockport, and formerly of Normal, Ill., 
departed on her journey to be reunited with her young son, Richard D. Tharp 
Jr., who preceded her in death, Monday, April 14, 2014. 

A private burial ceremony will be at a later date. 

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard D. Tharp Sr.; daughters, 
Robbin (Ken) Frost, of Normal, Ill., and Rebecca (David) Wilke, of Lockport; 
sons, Ryne (Karen) Tharp of Wauconda, Ill., and Rory Tharp, of Eugene, Ore.; 10 
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Geri (Darwin) Lafont, of 
Houma, and Anise (Johnny) Hendon, of Harvey. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Morris J. Terrebonne Sr.; mother, 
Oralee Terrebonne; brothers, Morris J. Terrebonne Jr. and Raymond Terrebonne; 
and sister, Ella Mae Plaisance. 

Jeanette attended school in Golden Meadow. She taught school on Grand Isle 
where she met her husband. She and her husband moved to Illinois where they 
lived for nearly 40 years before retirement. She was a Sears retiree. 
Jeanette and her husband traveled extensively in their RV, then lived on the 
Mississippi Gulf Coast for a period of time before moving to Louisiana to be 
near family and friends. 
Jeanette enjoyed family get togethers, traveling, sewing, fishing, and baby 
sitting for her grandchildren. She particularly enjoyed taking a spring 
vacation with her girl friends of 40 years.
