Lionel Williams, 58, a native of New Orleans and resident of Thibodaux, died 
Saturday, April 26, 2014.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Bell Baptist 
Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, 

with burial in New St. Matthew's Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his mother, Josephine A. Williams, of Thibodaux; son, Donell 
Mathews, of Thibodaux; daughter, Cornetta Mathews, of Baton Rouge; brothers, 
Egerald (Claudine) Williams Sr., of Lockport, Vernell (Rachel) Williams, of 
Thibodaux, Johnell (Barbara) Williams, of Thibodaux, and Arthur Lee (Mable) 
Williams Sr., of Bay Town, Texas; sisters, Enola Robinson, of Marrero, Ethel 
Williams, Octavia Alexander, Daisy Gray and Evetta Owens, all of Thibodaux, 
Odetha Gray, of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Josephine (Kenneth) Jackson, of 
Sacramento, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Williams; brothers, Simuel, Arbor 
Lee and Westley Williams; sisters, Beverly Harper and Olister Smith; and 
grandparents, Issac Atkins, Octavia Atkins, Westley Williams, and Olister 
Williams.

Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.
