Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at St. Hilary Catholic Church in Mathews. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in Holy Savior Cemetery in Lockport. He is survived by his wife, Mary Matherne Champagne; sons, Clyde Champagne and wife, Lucia, Melvin Champagne, and Darren Champagne; daughter, Shirleen Champagne and husband, Gerald; grandchildren, Eric Champagne, Ashley C. Pitre, Autumn C. Grupp, Amanda C. McGarity, Heather Champagne, Jena C. Girior, Beth Champagne, Nicholas Champagne, and Christopher Champagne; great-grandchildren, Jake Champagne, Makenzie Pitre, Luke Grupp, Abigail Grupp, Alister McGarity, Tayla Hood, Gage Girior, Jalyn Girior, Chloe Matranga, Kadence Champagne, and Tucker Champagne; sister, Sherrie Guidry; daughter-in-law, Jerilyn Champagne; and sister-in-law, Lilly Champagne. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Champagne; daughter-in-law, Maria Champagne; parents, Gussie and Virlie Champagne; brother, Gary Champagne; and brother-in-law, George Guidry. Ursin was a World War II veteran. He was a member of the VFW and St. Hilary Knights of Columbus. Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
