Millet, 81, a native of New Orleans and resident of Houma, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his wife, Joy Cenac Millet; son, Michael D. Millet, D.P.T., of New Orleans; granddaughter, Kailyn Rose McGuire, of Ann Arbor, Michigan; sisters, Sister Marjorie Millet, O.P., of New Orleans, Sylvia Giovingo and husband, Frank, of River Ridge, and Yvette Crist, of Mandeville; brother, Sterling Millet Jr. and wife, Maggie, of New Orleans; sister-in-law, Ann Cenac Simmons, of Houma; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sterling Sr. and Alva Millet; father and mother-in-law, William "Bill" and Cat Cenac; and brother-in-law, Gene "Luke" Simmons. He was a retired counselor and teacher from the Terrebonne Parish School System. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to any charity or to any school in Terrebonne Parish. Samart Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements. ======================
