Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma. Liturgy of the Word will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by her sons, Wayne M. Champagne and wife, Shirley Fanguy Champagne, Bruce P. Champagne Sr. and wife, Mary Dusenberry Champagne, and Jerry M. Champagne and wife, Diana Bollich Champagne, of Orange, Texas; brothers, Floyd A. Bergeron, Melvin A. Bergeron and Shirley Smith Bergeron, Terry A. Bergeron, Lanny J. Bergeron, and Algier Bergeron; sisters, Janet Bergeron Wells and husband, Don Wells, of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Meril Bergeron Allen, of Pacific Grove, California; grandchildren, Angie White, Bruce Champagne Jr., Corinne Hendricks, Melissa Kelley, Brandon Champagne, Andrew Champagne, Brittany Champagne, and Patrick Bollich; and 18 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her fist husband, Edward Peter "King" Champagne; second husband, Charles Edward Rich; parents, Stanley Joseph Bergeron Sr. and Doris Thibodeaux Bergeron; grandson, Brooks M. Champagne; brothers, the Rev. Stanley Joseph Bergeron Jr. and Elton Peter Bergeron; and grandparents, Gustave Isaac Bergeron and Aliska Henry Bergeron, and Oliver Thibodeaux and Ida Roddy Thibodeaux Lapeyrouse. Elsie was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She most enjoyed fishing, shrimping, hunting, traveling, bowling, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Very special thanks goes to Journey Hospice for the outstanding service and compassion of our Mother's care. Also thanks goes to our family and friends at Bayou Blue Assembly of god Church for all the love and prayers we received.
